Job Description
We are looking for a Marketing Intern who will serve as an integral member of Agora’s communications team during an exciting period of rapid growth. The Marketing Intern will play a key role in effectively communicating Agora’s story and raising Agora’s profile by managing internal marketing systems and processes, tracking and analyzing marketing results, and ensuring unified branding in all communications to Agora’s diverse network of stakeholders, including donors, entrepreneurs, investors, alumni, etc.
The Marketing Intern will be based in Agora’s downtown Washington, DC office and will report directly to the Communications Manager. Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
1. Social Media
Volunteer Logistics:
Estimated hours required per week: 20-40 hrs/week
The estimated duration of the project is: 3-6 months
This position is On-site in Washington United States
The office can provide amenities to volunteers such as: Internet, Office space
Language Requirements
English, Spanish working proficiency preferred
Desired Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone who is passionate about finding entrepreneurial solutions to our most pressing social challenges, and who wants to accelerate a new generation of entrepreneurs towards success. The successful candidate is driven by the desire to find creative and effective ways to share Agora’s message with a large and diverse audience, enjoys setting up and managing systems just as much as writing and editing presentations and reports, and can spot a missing comma or incorrect font from a mile away. The candidate will exhibit Agora’s core values of agency, empathy, curiosity and perseverance.
Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree and 1-2 years office-based work experience
• English fluency, with a strong preference for Spanish professional working proficiency
• Excellent writing and editing skills, with very high attention to detail
• Mastery of Microsoft word, powerpoint, excel
• Experience with CRMs (preferably Salesforce), WordPress, Social Media
• Preferred experience (but not necessary) in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally for up to two weeks at a time
• Ability to lift 25 pounds and sit for sustained periods of time

Job Description

- Set up and manage Hootsuite posting platform (or other similar platform)
- Lead content creation for social media posts
- Source and consolidate information to be used for newsletters, individual fundraising, the annual report, and other marketing pieces
- Edit external-facing content to ensure proper branding, both visually and textually
- Manage English-to-Spanish translation process
- Order printed marketing materials, business cards, etc. as necessary
- Build and maintain email campaign lists within Salesforce to segment Agora’s global network of donors, investors, entrepreneurs, etc.
- Support Communications Manager to create and manage communications schedule
- Update web content on wordpress platform
- Diagnose technical problems and liaise with developers as necessary
- Track, analyze and utilize results to improve effectiveness of social media, blog, website, and email efforts
- Design and implement SEO efforts
