Location
The post-holder must be based in any location in Asia within easy reach of Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka and, ideally, would be based in one of the project countries - either Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, or India. The location must have low risks of interference or interruptions, good internet access and good travel connections to programme countries. The post-holder must also be able to travel to all project countries without hindrance.
MRG has funding for a full time (5 days per week) post under this programme. This can either be for a full time Programme Coordinator based in Asia, or could be split between a part time Programme Coordinator in Asia and part-time programme support, likely based in London. This arrangement will be discussed with candidates in line with their preferences, and the salary above will be pro-rated accordingly if necessary.
Do you have at least two years’ experience managing international projects and working on human rights in South Asia? Do you have excellent communication, organisational, and numeracy skills? Are you experienced in working on issues related to freedom of religion or belief?
MRG is looking to recruit a South Asia Programme Coordinator to run a new SIDA-funded programme which will advance MRG's aims and objectives through protecting minorities and promoting freedom of religion or belief in South Asia. The post-holder will be responsible for tasks such as designing and running training events, drafting and/or commissioning research and publication proposals, and supporting partners to build national networks as well as carry out advocacy both at the national and international level. We are seeking an individual who has a background in successfully managing international projects, including drawing up and managing budgets, monitoring, scheduling, and evaluation. Candidates should also have experience working in complex security settings, and must be able to effectively gain the confidence of members of minority communities living in these areas.
