Instrument and Electrical Technician Diageo - St Croix, USVI - U.S. Virgin Islands

Purpose To provide project management, technical and engineering support to Manufacturing, Technical Operations, Brand Innovation, Brand Change and Procurement organizations. Problem-solve, troubleshoot, and address technical issues within operations. Assist in CAPEX strategic planning. Respond to feasibility, costing and analysis requests.
Decision Making & Financial Responsibility
Project manager is accountable for delivering projects on time and within budget, The PM is required to make decisions within the project and negotiate with suppliers or internal customers to help deliver the expectations for the benefit of Diageo, within policies and guidelines.
Management Responsibility Manages project teams; multi discipline, cross organizational/functional, internal and external resources, team size up to 10 indirect reports, 30 extended team members, project duration up to 24 months.
Communicate and share technical knowledge within the Diageo technical community
Set objectives, define roles, assign tasks, and motivate to successful completion
Provide direction and technical expertise to Project Engineers, Senior Project Engineers and plant staff.
Able to foster empowerment and a team environment. Ability to lead multi-functional teams.
Complexity of Role The project manager needs to be diverse enough to understand and track the needs of the business and changes in technology (both process and packaging) and to deliver projects at the most economic cost and highest quality. Project manager must be able to lead teams to research innovative solutions, solve problems, and apply new technologies. PM must be able to work in a cross-functional role to achieve ongoing Engineering / Business objectives.

7.Responsible for understanding the manufacturing processes of the company and identifying areas where the cost/ benefit favors technology and automation.
8.Provide guidance to corporate project engineering regarding design concepts, specifications and requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing process
9.Communicate and share technical knowledge within the Diageo technical community
10.Effectiveness of team, build team, manage interpersonal opportunities
11.Keeps abreast of best practices, and current or emerging manufacturing technologies to determine option and recommend improvements.

Experience (Knowledge, education, skills and years of experience)
Four-year degree in an engineering core discipline is required.
-Minimum of a combination of 5 years of technical/production/engineering management preferably in consumer products manufacturing. Consumer product packaging experience preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIREDThe successful candidate for this position will be an outgoing, entrepreneurial, self-motivated, self-directed person who is adaptable and flexible to respond to a host of different challenges. He/she must have very strong communication skills, an approachable personality and be accustomed to working on multiple tasks personally. This professional must be persuasive and tenacious in their relationships while maintaining professional standards of conduct and strong employee focus. The ability to manage multiple projects, change priorities when needed, and be action-oriented is essential.
The successful candidate must have the ability to prioritize complex objectives, with decision criteria. He/she must be able to interact with all levels of management.
