Job: The Board of Trustees at Claremont Lincoln University (a new and unique multi-faith graduate institution) is seeking talented candidates for the role of President

The Board of Trustees at Claremont Lincoln University is seeking talented candidates for the role of President. Claremont Lincoln University is a new and unique multi-faith graduate institution with a mission focused on bringing the power of religion to bear on the problems of the world.  From its location in Claremont, California, Claremont Lincoln seeks to educate ethical leaders to reach across international, cultural, political, economic and religious boundaries and put wisdom from across the ages to work in the world.
The University offers a distinctive curriculum designed to teach its own students and those from seminaries or religious centers how to work together and collaborate on solving problems of the world.  In addition to its own student body and curriculum, the University functions as a consortium of independent seminaries and centers of the world's religions that educate clergy or conduct activities for their independent religious traditions.
Founded by three independently incorporated educational institutions: Claremont School of Theology, an ecumenical Christian seminary; Academy for Jewish Religion-California, a trans-denominational institution devoted to the training of rabbis, cantors and chaplains for the 21st Century Jewish community; and the Islamic Center of Southern California, which has founded Bayan Claremont that will offer the first graduate-level imam training program in the United States, Claremont Lincoln University offers graduate degrees to students from multiple faith traditions, or no faith tradition at all, who wish to acquire deep understanding of other faiths and cultures and to develop the skills needed to work together.
Claremont Lincoln University seeks a visionary leader to sustain and advance its mission to bring the power of religion to bear on the problems of the world.  The President will need to lead Claremont Lincoln in a multi-religious consortium of partner institutions.  He/she will provide vision and leadership for a new and developing multi-faith institution.
The new President will need to work with staff and collaborate with partnering institutions to fulfill the University goal of training and graduating 21st Century leaders in religious and non-religious global contexts.  Reporting to the Claremont Lincoln Board of Directors, he/she serves as Chief Executive Officer of the institution with all incumbent responsibilities.

The successful candidate will be an effective and creative leader who is able to make significant contributions to the future of Claremont Lincoln University.  The qualified candidate will have significant management experience and understand leading in the higher education environment.  He/she will present demonstrated success or aptitude for fundraising along with stellar communication and public speaking skills. This individual could have successful experience in a range of different settings including academic, nonprofit or industry.  A terminal or other advanced degree is preferred but not required.
Initial screening of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.  Review of applications will begin immediately.  Claremont Lincoln University will be assisted by Heidrick & Struggles, Inc.  Nominations and applications should be directed to:
