The Board of Trustees at Claremont Lincoln University is
seeking talented candidates for the role of President. Claremont
Lincoln University is a new and unique multi-faith graduate institution
with a mission focused on bringing the power of religion to bear on the
problems of the world. From its location in Claremont, California,
Claremont Lincoln seeks to educate ethical leaders to reach across
international, cultural, political, economic and religious boundaries
and put wisdom from across the ages to work in the world.
The University offers a distinctive curriculum designed
to teach its own students and those from seminaries or religious centers
how to work together and collaborate on solving problems of the world.
In addition to its own student body and curriculum, the University
functions as a consortium of independent seminaries and centers of the
world's religions that educate clergy or conduct activities for their
independent religious traditions.
Founded by three independently incorporated educational
institutions: Claremont School of Theology, an ecumenical Christian
seminary; Academy for Jewish Religion-California, a trans-denominational
institution devoted to the training of rabbis, cantors and chaplains
for the 21st Century Jewish community; and the Islamic Center of
Southern California, which has founded Bayan Claremont that will offer
the first graduate-level imam training program in the United States,
Claremont Lincoln University offers graduate degrees to students from
multiple faith traditions, or no faith tradition at all, who wish to
acquire deep understanding of other faiths and cultures and to develop
the skills needed to work together.
Claremont Lincoln University seeks a visionary leader to
sustain and advance its mission to bring the power of religion to bear
on the problems of the world. The President will need to lead Claremont
Lincoln in a multi-religious consortium of partner institutions.
He/she will provide vision and leadership for a new and developing
multi-faith institution.
The new President will need to work with staff and collaborate with
partnering institutions to fulfill the University goal of training and
graduating 21st Century leaders in religious and non-religious global
contexts. Reporting to the Claremont Lincoln Board of Directors, he/she
serves as Chief Executive Officer of the institution with all incumbent
responsibilities.The successful candidate will be an effective and creative leader who is able to make significant contributions to the future of Claremont Lincoln University. The qualified candidate will have significant management experience and understand leading in the higher education environment. He/she will present demonstrated success or aptitude for fundraising along with stellar communication and public speaking skills. This individual could have successful experience in a range of different settings including academic, nonprofit or industry. A terminal or other advanced degree is preferred but not required.
