      Recognizing Innovative and Transformative Projects

Each year, the WISE Awards identify, showcase and promote innovative educational projects that are having a transformative impact on societies and education. Since 2009, WISE has received thousands of applications that have emerged from a wide variety of sectors and from over 130 countries. The winning projects constitute a growing pool of expertise and diverse sound educational practices.

      Selecting the Award Winners

Following a global call for project, a Pre-Jury composed of education experts assesses the submissions to select the Finalists. Following this, a Jury bringing together leading personalities from the education world chooses the six Award winning projects. Winners receive global visibility along with a prize of $20,000 (US) and are celebrated at the annual WISE Summit Gala Dinner.

The WISE Awards run in parallel with the other WISE Programs such as the WISE Prize for Education.

      Support and Collaboration

The members of the WISE Awards Network are given a voice and collaborate through the different platforms offered to them through the WISE community resources:

WISE Communications: This includes the WISE website, WISE social media networks, the WISE Awards blog and year-round global media coverage. WISE media partner Euronews also promotes the Award-winning projects through its weekly television magazine Learning World.
      > Multimedia productions: Web documentaries and video interviews.
      > WISE Publications: Several WISE Awards finalists and winning projects have been featured in the WISE Book, a guide to best practices in education.
      > Participation in the annual WISE Summit and other global events organized in collaboration with WISE.

At the annual WISE Summit in Doha, Qatar, representatives from Award winning projects are also given the opportunity to present and discuss their work at a dedicated Summit session.
