Visiting Professorships in the Social Sciences

The School of Social Sciences, Ateneo de Manila University, is pleased to announce the Loyola Schools Visiting Professorship in the Social Sciences for 2014–2015 in the field of: 

Geography in Basic Education

The Visiting Professor of Geography in Basic Education is expected to be a specialist in expertise in physical, human and society–environment geography at the basic education levels. He or she will be affiliated with the Department of Education in the School of Social Sciences.

About the Visiting Professorship
The Visiting Professorship is open to Professors and Associate Professors who have distinguished themselves in research  and have a strong record of teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

A Loyola Schools Visiting Professor will be on research leave from his or her home university and will be appointed at the Ateneo de Manila University for one academic semester (five months). A shorter or longer stay can be arranged. A stipend will be provided.

The Visiting Professor will be given the opportunity to teach a course at the undergraduate and/or graduate level and mentor younger faculty member of the Ateneo de Manila University in the visitor’s areas of expertise in research and teaching. The visitor will participate in the academic and intellectual life of the Ateneo de Manila University and contribute to it by delivering one formal lecture that will be advertised to the university community and open to the public.

(c) description of teaching experience
(d) description of the proposed course or courses to be offered by the visitor
(e) summary of any research/creative work project to be pursued as a Visiting Professor
(f) proposed term for residence at the Ateneo de Manila University.
