Promoting Net Neutrality in Cameroon

A capacity building seminar was organized in Douala-Cameroon on the 18th of July 2014 at hotel Lewat by I-Vission International with the theme: Promoting Net Neutrality through multi stakeholder capacity building and dialogue. Forty two participants were trained on the concept of Net Neutrality including its historical background, how to detect abuse, its importance and impact if not maintained.
This is one in a series of seminars to be organized in a project funded by the Web we Want campaign.

Excel Asama saluted the presence of the Regional delegate of the Post and Telecommuiation Mr Bassirou for his perpetual support and concern in the development of ICTs in Cameroon. The project manager of www.ici.cm  platform, Marc Ngiamba was also part of the show.

Do Nurses Need State Registration Numbers to make it abroad?

Nurses make up 80% of the Health care system. Their Attitude makes the whole difference, the reason why we pay much attention on building the character traits of our trainees at the St Louis University Institute of Health & biomedical Sciences. They must reflect love, service, empathy & altruism to fit in a team and understanding others is something our students master at St Louis Higher Institute of Health & Biomedical Sciences.

After travelling to many Countries in Africa & the globe, I have noticed that the health system of Cameroon still suffers an acute lack at the level of diagnosis and technology. Many trained technicians are not mature to handle health concerns at their disposal. The trends can only be reversed if economic opportunities are created to stop the brain drain. The medical migration of trained nurses can only be a push factor for patients to fly abroad for specific medical attention.

We must understand that the quality of training matters and certificates without Attitude, Honesty, the sense of common good, to name this, is as dangerous as the canker worm 'Corruption' robbing us of every priceless we still hold in our society today. We do not lead people, we do not push people, we help people walk the path that matches their purpose of living. We discover your passion with you and we encourage honesty, self esteem, discipline, prayer & the respect of the environment to help you understand the value of work that is well done.
The improvement can be efficient if the Central Nursing Council & the Public Health Ministry provide a standardized training curriculum for all nursing students in the different nursing institutions of the Republic of Cameroon.

The crucial lack of Information, Professionalism in the nursing field and standardized curriculum are major factors ruining the healthcare sector of Cameroon.

Reports have it that the Central Nursing Council is not strong enough.

People should learn to specify and sharpen skills in field of specialisation. As a specialist, the technician can help better. There is a huge lack of cancer health nurses, psychiatric nurses, family care, to name these to appropriately handle the specific health needs of patients.
